Qkopy takes the privacy of its users seriously. Qkopy has adopted information management guidelines for our customer relationships designed to respect the privacy and preferences of our users. Our privacy policy states, you understand that through your use of the services you consent to the collection and use of this information, including the transfer of this information for storage, processing and use by Qkopy and its affiliates.

Qkopy receives your information through its website, mobile applications etc. This Privacy policy describes how and when Qkopy use your information when you are at our services and website.

How Qkopy Works

The Qkopy platform has a native mobile app for Android and iOS. The app only works if the user saves or adds a particular number (which has made public by the concern) of his interest to his/her phone contact there by the user can receive messages or updates by staying as anonymous and can communicate privately to that particular phone contact thereafter.

A normal user can find or locate these contacts and can save or add these contacts to his / her phone book to connect and communicate further.

Public listing (Popular Contacts, Trending Contacts, Nearby Contacts)

The app has got certain features like Popular Contacts, Nearby Contacts & Trending Contacts. These features work like a public directory or as a public phone contact listing page inside the app where a user can discover or find the popular public contacts(The most followed or based on the popularity of the profile holder), the nearest public contacts and the trending, sponsored or promoted contact inside the app.

All popular, trending, sponsored or promoted contacts are the premium paid subscribers of the Qkopy app and are shown public only based on the in-app request from the concerned premium subscribers.

User Account Types

Normal User( General User) : You can sign-up with your phone number in Qkopy to discover (find), connect and communicate with the contacts which are made public by the respective account holders(the premium users of Qkopy) near and around you and you can save these contacts in your phone book for receiving future updates or messages. To perform this action, you must agree to the terms and consent to the application.

Premium User (paid user) : Once you choose to be a premium user (paid user), then you can publish or broadcast your contents/ messages in Qkopy, to the audiences who have to opt to listen to you.

As a premium user, if you enable or turn on the nearby Show option in Settings, your profile will be listed in the contact list or displayed on the public listing including Popular Contacts, Trending Contacts, Nearby Contacts. To perform this action, you must agree to the terms and consent to the application.

What information we collects & upload from you?

To effectively provide and introduce any new services to you, we collect certain information such as your phone number, name, location, email, images, texts you type-publish and documents(PDF) from you. We may further request and store additional information. Such information is stored securely on amazon web services or “AWS” cloud servers and the MongoDB servers, thereby also subject to the terms of the AWS and MongoDB services. The Qkopy Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share and store the information collected. The Qkopy Privacy Policy also details your rights under law and how you may control the data you provide us.

The app does use third party services that may collect information used to identify you.

Log Data

We want to inform you that whenever you use our Service, in a case of an error in the app we collect data and information (through third party products) on your phone called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing our Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics.

PERMISSIONS YOU GIVE TO US

You accept these Terms and give us certain permissions so that we can better serve you. Permissions you have granted us are:

Contact Permissions: We collects name, phone number (contact information) and email information only once you are willing to give access permission to sync with your contacts. We ask for phone numbers and details because that's how Qkopy identifies users, making it easier for you to discover connect and communicate with friends and contacts you saved in your phonebook and the contacts which are listed public inside the app.

You can install Qkopy without granting contact access permission and can possibly even explore the app, but you can't get message updates on your Qkopy Queue (timeline) from the saved phone contacts in your mobile devices. Hence, you likely must grant permission to your contacts at least once, in order to receive messages and initiate chat conversations with all your saved contacts in your device phone book.

When a user upgrades to Premium subscription/ Verified account, and he/she can opt to set a Qkopy Id (qkopyid@qkopy.com). Once Qkopy Id is set then the mobile number of premium user will only be shared to the audience when they opt to share, otherwise qkopyid@qkopy.com will be saved by the audience.

Why you opt for a Qkopy ID (qkopyid@qkopy.com): To ensure your profile's reach and discovery before your followers and also to hide your mobile number, thereby you can protect your phone privacy.

Photo & Media Permissions: For Qkopy to use the photos from your Camera Roll or Photo albums, you'll need to give the app permission to access to gallery and storage from your Phone. The information collected is stored securely on amazon web services or “AWS” cloud servers and the MongoDB servers, thereby also subject to the terms of the AWS and MongoDB services. If you declined permission to use photos, you cannot set your profile picture and upload or attach media files (images, video, audio and documents) while posting contents and sharing of media files through Chats with your connections.

Locations Permissions: Your locations and other demographic information that you provide. We collect your location information to provide you with the proximity services, to find discover the nearby contacts that are listed inside the app.

If you deny location access permission, your proximity services will be disabled, thereafter you won't be able to find, discover any of the contacts near and around you within a limited radius.

Device information: We collect information about the computer or smartphone, tablet or other devices you use to access the Qkopy offerings, including the hardware model, operating system and version and mobile network information.

Where we make use of this information? To offer a better Qkopy experience (Crash Free, Bug-Free) and also to offer new feature implementations in future.

When you connect with contacts in your contact list – when you connect and how frequently you connect will be in records, we also collect information about how you use our services, such as the types of content you view or engage with or the frequency and duration of your activities. The demographic information that you access and information about subjects that may interest you.

For enabling some of our key features like Dynamic QR and profile promotion URLs (short links), user contact information like mobile numbers are transmitted through third-party tools for the smart execution and processing data.

We may use the information we gather to allow us to process information, registrations, and customer service inquiries. Provide you with information about the services we offer (if you agree to receive such information). Monitor and analyze trends, usage and activities in connection with the Qkopy offerings your personal information will not be shared with third parties without your consent.

Automatic Downloads and Updates: We are constantly updating our Platform and Services offered. To use our Platform, you may need to download the Qkopy mobile application to your mobile device and update it from time to time.

Applications and software are constantly updated for your use and you will need to install the latest version of the Qkopy mobile application to your mobile device each time such update is generated.

Security

We value your trust in providing us your Personal Information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

OUR AGREEMENT AND WHAT HAPPENS IF WE DISAGREE

a. Who Has Rights Under These Terms

The rights and obligations under these terms are granted only to you and shall not be assigned to any third party without our consent. However, we are permitted to assign our rights and obligations under these Terms to others. This can happen when, for example, we enter into a merger with another company and create a new company.

b. How We Will Handle Disputes

In all cases, you agree that disputes will be subject to the laws of the Republic of India and the courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction over all such disputes.

c. Grievance Officer

We have a Grievance Officer to address your concerns regarding data safety, privacy, and Platform usage concerns. We will resolve the issues raised by you within 45 days from receiving them. You may contact the Grievance Officer at : E- Mail: grievance@qkopy.com

We are an intermediary under Indian law. We do not control what people post on our Platform but we expect everyone to comply with the Qkopy Content and Terms of use guidelines.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted on this page.

You can use Qkopy to discover(find/search) contacts around you which are made public by the respective contact holders(Premium/Verified users). You will receive notifications for multimedia contents from the contacts which you have discovered through Qkopy app and saved in your phone book. Set up Qkopy is a free service. Before you set up and use Qkopy you need a phone number for sign up, Access to a phone that can receive SMS messages.

Set up Qkopy

Step 1: Install Qkopy

Qkopy is available on Android and iOS phones and tablets. When you sign up, you'll get a verification code on your phone. We are using Facebook Account Kit to initiate verification process. Your number will be shared to Facebook Account Kit, since we are agreed to do so, for using the services from Facebook Account Kit.

Step 2: Verify your phone number

On your Android device, enter your phone number and make sure it's correct.
Tap Continue.

Qkopy will send a code in a one-time SMS message to the number that you entered (Carrier text-message rates may apply). Enter the code that you received in the text message. If you don't receive a text message, tap Resend SMS. If you have a cell connection and aren't getting the SMS, check your network connection and kindly try after some time.

Step 3: Create your Qkopy Account

On receiving OTP, your mobile number will be verified for creating your profile with Qkopy App .If you already use Qkopy on another device, the same sign up process will continue to finish setup.

After you create Qkopy Account: give access permission to sync your phone contact to the Qkopy app there by you will be able to see contacts in your phone book who are already using Qkopy listed inside the Qkopy app. You can also view the count of Qkopy users who have saved your phone number and that will be shown inside the Qkopy app profile.

Being a normal user, you can now use Qkopy to discover and connect with the contacts which are made public by the respective account holders(the premium users of Qkopy) and you can save these contacts in your phone book for getting future updates or messages from these contacts. You can add or remove or block or mute the contact listed inside the Qkopy app at any time.

Once you choose to be a premium user (paid user), you can be a publisher or broadcaster of your contents or messages to the audiences who might opt to listen you once you make your content public when you broadcast.
